When I design a composition to teach in a class, I also design a detailed packet of information. This packet is a step by step roadmap to help you get a good finished painting.
Each packet containsa list of the paints, a list of the brushes, a line drawing (the exact size of the finished painting), a value scale for each object or area painted in the composition, detailed written instructions, and one sometimes two good quality color photos.
