| I am a Self-taught Artist. I paint in Oils and I like a realistic style of painting. I design and teach all of the compositions we paint. When I decided to open the Art Studio, I took a course to learn how to teach. Just because you can paint does not mean you can teach! I am an Accredited Ann Kingslan teacher. The Kingslan style is based on the value scale method. Every object(or area) in a painting has a value scale,color from it's lightest value to it's darkest. Each value scale is pallet knife mixed before you begin to paint the object or area. As you can see from the Demo paintings our colors stay bright and pure, they are never muddy. The Kingslans (Ann Kingslan & Mary Kingslan Gibilisco) specialize in Still Life and Florals. I have adapted their method of painting to every composition I design and teach. It has been very successful. Students leave the Art Studio with a very good painting, but most of all they understand what they have done......Ruth |

Demo Paintings (demonstration paintings),are paintings that have been designed painted and taught in a class by Ruth. Most of these are also available as an Instructional Painting Packet, these packet contains all the information necessary for those of you who would like to paint the painting yourself.
